OK, OK lets be honest here at Chez Bitsy EVERY day is laundry day. However this was a chore I previously thought to be a pain in the backside, something that got in the way of getting other "stuff" done. it wasn't so much the having to sort the clothes or indeed putting the washing machine on it was the dealing with the end result. Having to dash outside to hang it on the line (no tumble drier here!) whilst trying to keep an eye on the pups as you know what it's like.......the minute you're out of earshot something invariably happens.
Anyway last few days I've been up early with one of the pups. Whilst the others slumber in their beds I've taken the opportunity to hang the washing out early. OK it's sat in the machine overnight so I am never going to win the Domestic Goddess of the year award but the sunshine at 7am has been fantastic. Why waste a fabulous drying opportunity, especially with the british summers being what they are ;)
So imagine my pleasure, yes pleasure in leisurely hanging the washing, bathed in sunshine under an endless blue sky. The birds were tweeting and all was quiet and coming to life. How had I let such an appreication for my garden and neighbourhood go unnoticed for so long. Hanging that laundry will now be a time to savour the sounds and sights of my garden rather than something to procrastinate about. Sure there will be times when I am doing it in a rush and in the cold depths of Winter hanging it at 7am will require a miners helmet in order to see BUT for now I shall seek to enjoy the moment and be grateful I have a lovely garden in which to dry my smalls :)
