365 Days

A year ago today my entire world upped sticks and moved 90 miles south. That day I stood in the kitchen of my old home and wept. I left behind family, friends, familiarity and I was excited and shit scared in equal measure.

So what has the last 12 months been like?
If I am honest it's been the best of times and the worst of times.
I feel like I've come home. Of course I don't live in a rural village (more's the pity) but compared to the 'Burbs in the West Midlands it sure feels like it. The scenery is stunning, the people so friendly and best of all no scrap metal men endlessly trawling the streets blaring their hideous wobbly tape recordings of an unintelligible call.
However the move has come at a price and it's been a bit of a rocky road for the pups; trying to break into established relationships at a new school and adjusting to complete new surroundings. It's been a steep learning curve for us with Pup1's autism and dealing with his behaviour but hoping a recent purchase of a kick dummy will give Pup1 a target for his frustrations.

Life has recently thrown us a mahoosive curve ball (I know it's a baseball term but it's such a good analogy) which are we are picking ourselves off the floor from. So the roller coaster continues but I wouldn't have it anywhere else. Where else would I get the joy of sitting inside St Michaels Chapel ontop of Glastonbury Tor watching Luna's ears flap in the breeze :)

Here's to the next 365 days and whatever they will bring :)

Take a break

Nope not the crappy magazine filled with awful real life stories but me.
Taking a break.
From blogging.

A few factors influencing this decision and in no particular order they are
a) feeling like pretty much the world and his dog have blogged about what I've got to say already, not sure I've got anything new to bring to the table.
b) the fact that I am unable to upload pictures from my computer onto my blog. I don't want to use Google Chrome or any other friggin work around I just want that browse button back.
c) my creative urges have died and gone to heaven. Or in the ether somewhere. I originally wanted to blog about stuff I've made, food, crafts etc but life seems so upside down at this minute my mojo has not only left the building I think it packed a suitcase and went travelling.

Blogging used to feel fun. It doesn't feel fun at the moment. It sits mocking me for my inactivity, my lack of originality and general lack of inspiration.

So for now it's so long, farewell, auf weidersehen, adieu.

A new dawn, it's a new day.....

So the end of one year and a start of another. Hello 2012.

I like new, fresh starts.
Don't understand all the hype and celebration of New Years Eve. I prefer to quietly look forward to new challenges of the new year rather than over excitement at the change of the date. i suspect some of this attitude is a come down after the Christmas festivities and the realisation that it will all soon be over.

I don't make resolutions but I would be lying if I said I didn't have goals for the coming months. But for some reason I prefer goals, sounds less all or nothing than a resolution, more flexible and adaptable.

The laptop is still being a total PITA and I gave up trying to get it to upload my pics of the Christmas cake I decorated. It was either give up or risk throwing the lappy out of the window.
I will leave you with the sound of Nina Simone. This song never fails to give me chills.

Happy New Year, hope it brings you all your hearts desires.
