Toilet Roll Anyone?

Its time for some gratuitous puppy pictures :)

Do you recall the scene in the Tom Hanks movie Turner and Hooch where Tom Hank's character is showing Hooch round the house pointing out what and where he cannot go. Clearly Luna missed the memo on what items in the house she is not allowed to comandeer.

And she missed the discussion about how my old pregnancy pillow did not belong to those of the canine variety......

Really this dog does do other stuff in addition to sleeping. Honest.
We've lost one laptop charger, had one of the legs of a dining room table chewed, lost a baseball cap I bought whilst on honeymoon, numerous items of Pup1's clothing peppered with holes added courtesy of needle like teeth, had a rug redesigned with pulling out some woven stitches (on the very same day it was delivered) and some newly laid turf pulled up and chewed. See she does do stuff.

But she now has a partner in crime.
Let me introduce Hollie.
Cute as a button and about as high maintenance as you can get. But she is a chocolate labrador so really what do you expect.
I haven't completely lost the plot and gone for two puppies. Even I don't have that level of insanity. This adorable bundle of brown gorgeous-ness belongs to my parents.

See this one chews too ;)
But with a face like that I think you'd forgive anything :)
Life sure ain't dull when these two are together. They could star in their very own Andrex advert.......they've chewed enough of the cardboard inner tubes found inside said toilet rolls.

Apple eat your heart out.

So the Husband turned 40. Well I couldn't let that one slide by without something make out of cake and fondant icing.
I do love a bit of Betty Crocker buttercream

Bottom cake covered. Trying to buttercream the smaller one whilst keeping the fondant clean was a challenge. I am naturally messy when it comes to things like this!

I loathe using black fondant. Despite being really careful it attracts every single bit of white powder, icing sugar floating about grrrr

An iPad on its box.Sorry for the poor lighting of the pic, dusk was closing in and I needed to take a picture whilst I could.

As you can see landscape painting is not my forte but the "wallpaper" for the iPad was a tree, some green hills and blue sky. I won't be appearing on Watercolour Challenge any time soon.

Cake is being demolished rapidly by the pups who like all children have a huge affection for all things 100% sugar.

Nesting.....

Not that sort of nesting, my days of tiny pitter patter of feet are over.
This is the Easter nesting sort.
Simple, easy "baking" that the pups can do themselves once the chocolate is melted.

Purists will argue that I ought to have used cornflakes or some sort of cereal akin to twigs but quite frankly I wanted them to be eaten at the end of the day and we prefer them with rice crispies.

Did you know mini eggs have 23 layers of sugar to form the outer shell. Thank you Cadbury World for that valuable piece of information!

Hope you all had an egg-citing Easter.
