So intuitive eating, mindful eating whatever you want to call it is the way forward for me. My gut is telling me those naturally slim people (and by that I don't refer to the people who exercise themselves to death in order to eat what they want) don't low carb or count points, they just listen to their bodies and stop when they have had sufficient. If they can do it then so can I.
Apologies for the really poor picture, usual camera had no battery power left!
These books are well read, like old friends. This isn't my first foray into the world of intuituve eating, indeed amongst my arsenal I have the likes of Geneen Roth and the lovely girls from Beyond Chocolate. I am however guilty of treating intuitive eating like a "diet", waking up each morning swearing I am going to do it, that today's the day I will start and then completely failing to actually implement any of the knowledge I have learned. So this post isn't just another morning promise to "try" and eat the way I "should"......those words are now banned from my vocab. They are woolley thinking words, not positive enough and still leaving me room to not make the effort. I will eat intuitively, I will make mistakes and slip up, I will occasionally feel like there are quicker ways to lose weight in the short term BUT ultimately I will change my poor eating habits. I will realise that this is not punishment, that food is my friend and not the enemy. I will realise that with presistence and practice getting slimmer is easy and not the martydom that so many slave themselves to. I can have my cake and eat it :)
