A little light reading.

I don't utilise my local library as much as I ought to, mainly because it's sooooo small. However for some reason the urge overcame me to take Pup2 to the library to browse the books, stroke the spines and generally soak up the library atmosphere (I secretly wanted to be a librarian when I was little, something comforting about the orderly-ness of the arrangement and the fact that I always had a hankering for using rubber stamps :) Sadly these are now obsolete (no more date stamping at the front) and it's all automated machines that you swish the books under but I digress.......).
So I fancied having a little inspiration to my baking and my cooking. I am very much a creature of habit and I think I need to step out of my comfort zone a little otherwise this is going to quickly turn into a very tedious blog.
So a bit of Rachel, Nigella to start me off. Then the Ministry of Food which is mentioned a lot on the OS board on MSE forums and lastly some regional/tradition cake ideas. Plenty there to browse and try methinks!

this is for when I am not busy cooking. I've loved seeing lovely crochet on other peoples blogs but have always been too chicken to try. My mum once tried to teach me to knit and it was a disaster. I am hoping that only having one needle will prove less troublesome than having two ;)
My mum being a total star had some spare knitting yarn and a couple of hooks so I can start having a go.
If I start telling people I am a hooker I'm not going to start getting a load of funny looks am I? LOL
