Blogging Virgin!

Soooooooo this is me, tentatively dipping my toe in the ocean of Blogs.
What does one write for a first blog? Something side achingly funny? Or dramatic? Awe inspiring? Sadly I fear I shall fail on all counts BUT that does not deter me.

Ever feel like you are on one of those wheels that hamsters have in cages for "entertainment" (personally I think they're just cruel......poor hamster does all that running with nothing to show for it). Life with small children, from now on referred to as pup1 and pup2, can be an endless cycle of routine. Sure routine is good, keeps things ticking over but my word does it make for dull living sometimes. Get up, feed the kids, feed Mia (henceforth known as Killer Cat due to all the <ahem> presents to brings to the garden) before tending to my own ablutions before dashing out of the door on the first of many school runs. The endless of pick up and put away of toys then continues until it's bedtime (and long after). This blog is a way to remind myself to get off the wheel sometimes and indulge MYSELF in the things that make me happy. To stop, take stock in the moment and enjoy the present moment.
And eat cake, there is always time for a piece of cake. Preferably home made but that's not essential.
OK the cake a tiny bit overdone, the plate has a small chip in it and the cover for the kitchen table is well not terribly alluring to say the least. But as Nigella's says in the Domestic Goddess life is not lived in a lab. Good job I say when it comes to living in this house.
